In the spirit of giving back this festive season, LottoStar and 947 have come together to put smiles on the faces of those who are in need through our 12 Days of Joy campaign. Every day, for the next 12 days, we will be assisting nominated recipients. The stories will be aired, daily, on our radio partner’s station, 947.

Meet our first recipient, Liza Bouwer, a single mother in need. Liza’s festive wish is to erect a tombstone for her twin girls who passed away in 2006.

A few days after birth, one of the babies passed away in hospital. The other baby got meningitis at 8 months and passed away in hospital.

“I lost my twins in 2006 and never really thought of putting up a tombstone as we kept the grave clean, but with some people stealing and messing up the place I wanted to save up for a tombstone, but it's been impossible this year coz of financial reasons”, wrote Liza.

We’ve granted Liza’s festive wish and contributed a total of R25,400 towards her twin girls’ tombstone and other essentials for Liza and her family.
