Our next LottoStar and 947’s 12 Days of Joy recipient is an amazing 7-year-old girl whose wish is to go back to school.

Thato Motloung was hit by a truck at the gate in front of her home in November 2019. She sadly lost her leg and requires a wheelchair.

This incident led to her being referred to a special school as she’s now wheelchair-bound and can’t go back to her old school.

Thato comes from a disadvantaged family in Palm Springs, South of Johannesburg, and the cost of a special school is way too much for her parents.

Thato’s neighbour and nominator, Lindiwe Mahlong, has been trying to raise funds through donations for Thato’s school fees. Lindiwe describes Thato as a very smart girl and wishes for her to be able to go back to school and pursue her dreams like other kids.

The total amount required for Thato’s school fees which include her uniform and hostel fees is R25,900.

Therefore, LottoStar would be contributing a total of R35,000 towards Thato’s school fees and other essentials.
