Well, the community of Liverpool is buzzing with rumours that the winner of a hefty payout of £195 (R3,9 Billion) lives there – even though Camelot has not confirmed where the winning lottery ticket was bought.

Locals are convinced that the winning ticket was sold in one of their businesses, hence the rumours were sparked.

Last week, one lucky player from the UK pocketed the epic EuroMillions payout of £195m (R3,9 Billion). The record-breaking payout was marked as the biggest National Lottery win of all time, however, the winner is yet to step forward.

The Liverpool Echo, a local publication, visited several shops in Formby, to find that almost every shop worker heard the rumour that the ticket was bought over the counter somewhere in the area.

Camelot, the lottery's operator, has not confirmed where the winning ticket was sold but a few Formby residents believe it was there.

One worker from Bargain Booze, a convenience store said, "I'm sure I sold the ticket. I remember serving one lad, I looked at the ticket and the numbers just looked right. Our boss is on holiday and we haven't heard anything from Camelot about whether we were the ones to sell it”.

A spokesperson for Camelot has confirmed that the money had been claimed by the person with the winning ticket but they have not yet decided whether they want to go public about the win. However, they have not confirmed where the winning ticket was sold.
